A Guardian home is an opportunity to have all of the peace of mind of a health tested, high quality dog without the cost of purchasing your puppy. All of our dogs are health and dna tested before breeding ever begins.
And did we mention cute too??
If you live less than 15 minutes from Breeders home and plan to stay in that area then this would be a wonderful match for you. The dog will be your forever family pet and we, the Breeders, will own breeding rights.
We believe every dog should have the individual attention and care from a family environment. To ensure that every dog is given the attention and care that only a family can offer, we offer a Guardian/co-ownership Program where qualified families can love and care for one of our dogs, while we retain breeding rights. When the dog finishes in our breeding program with us (the Breeder), then full ownership is signed over to you, the Guardian. When we, the Breeder, determine she/he is done with our breeding program, the dog will be neutered/spayed and live happily ever after with you, the Guardian (the dogs family).
Guardian families are expected to care for their new dog physically and financially. We, the Breeder, will cover all costs associated with breeding and care for all litters produced by Guardian Family dogs. Guardians are NOT allowed to breed the dog. Guardians must be willing to communicate regularly and timely with us (the Breeder). The following bullet points are required for all guardian homes. Guardian will
need to initial each item acknowledging understanding & accepting terms:
Maintain regular grooming appointments every few months for hair and nails. Approximately $70 about every 3 months. The dog will also need regular brushing to help keep coat from matting.
Have a secure, fully fenced backyard.
Must be an indoor dog.
Must not give the dog rope chew toys as they are a severe choking hazard and risk to health.
Must train the dog with basic obedience and manners.
Must start an Instagram account for the dog and post updates at least weekly.
Have previous experience with owning a dog or have adequate knowledge of caring for a dog.
Be able to provide dog with proper health care, nutrition, and exercise (daily walks are strongly encouraged). Use a leash whenever outside of the Guardians home or yard.
Take the dog to the vet for his annual vaccines, regular deworming and whenever else care is needed (aside from breeding related visits). Provide proof of vaccines to the Breeder.
Feed a premium, quality food of Breeders choice. Must feed Paw Tree https://shop.pawtree.com/countrykennelsid (we recommend purchasing the turkey with rice and turkey with sweet potato and mixing them together). Approximately $35 a month for food.
Contact Breeder immediately in the event of a serious illness or accident.
Be able to communicate with us, the Breeder, about scheduling testing, mating, and anything else breeding related.
We will arrange to pick up your dog (or arrange to have you drop off the dog) to take to breeding related appointments that will be around 1-2 hours.
All breeding will be coordinated through the Breeder. The Guardian agrees to NOT allow breeding with any other dogs. Unauthorized breeding will result in immediate removal from the Guardian home.
Notify Breeder of scheduled vacations or other absences which would warrant the dog needing other care. This care must meet the approval of the Breeders, and Breeders must be given the contact information of the caretaker during absence. Schedule and pay for boarding expenses that may be necessary if Breeder is unable to care for dog while Guardian is out of town. Guardian shall notify Breeder of Guardian vacations plans, if dog will be with Guardian family on vacation, and provide all contact information in the event dog is needed for breeding during vacation time.
Breeders may remove the dog from the possession of Guardian for non‐compliance of terms of this agreement, at which time this agreement shall terminate.
Must sign a contract stating you agree to the above terms.
