- Keep your trash covered or secure.
- Cover or contain cords.
- Store bags appropriately (lots of items in the bag can be toxic to dogs)
- Create a drug-free zone (store human medications out of reach)
- Watch out for poisonous houseplants
- Give puppies a safe space of their own.
- Pack up household items (cleaners, detergents & glues etc.)
- Set limits (use baby gates or pens to limit wandering)
- Heights (puppies are fragile – avoid falls)
- Batteries are dangerous (remember puppies chew and can get into electronics, key fobs, remotes etc.)
We believe in doing everything we can to help your puppy easily transition from our home to your home. We have already started potty training, crate training and socialized them with other animals and people. We train based on the Puppy Culture method.
When you become parents to one of our puppies, we send you home with a complimentary Snuggle Puppy ($70+ value). The Snuggle Puppy recreates the intimacy and physical warmth and a “real-feel” heartbeat. The result is a calmer, more peaceful pet- one that feels less loneliness, fear, and separation anxiety.
It is likely you will be crate training your puppy once they are home. Make that space a happy place with food and water nearby. You may consider starting with a smaller size crate and transition them as they grow. For our adult 20 pound dog, a 30x19x21 size crate is adequate.
