What is a Flight Nanny

Think of a FLIGHT NANNY as a professional pet courier who takes on the responsibility of accompanying your puppy to you and their forever home. A Flight Nanny will ensure that every aspect of the travel experience is smooth and enjoyable.

Probably 75% of our puppies leave our home via a Flight Nanny. A small percentage live close enough to drive to our home to pick up their puppy and an even smaller percentage of our puppies live within the Treasure Valley (minutes from us).

Why Choose a Flight Nanny?

  1. Comfort and Care: Flight nannies provide personalized care and attention to your puppy during the entire journey. They are not just transporting pets; they are companions, making sure your puppy feels secure and loved throughout the trip.
  2. Reduced Stress: Flight nannies are experienced in handling animals and are trained to recognize and alleviate stressors, making the journey as pleasant as possible. They are also very familiar with the nuances of traveling with puppies and handing a puppy while in cabin.
  3. Direct Supervision: Unlike cargo shipments, where pets may be left alone for extended periods, flight nannies stay with the animals throughout the entire journey.
  4. Cost: In all of our time breeding dogs, we have very rarely been able to fly a puppy more economically than a Flight Nanny can. When we fly puppies, the cost includes the plane ticket for the human, the plane ticket for the puppy and the time for the roundtrip flight. The Flight Nanny we work with flies standby and are therefore able to make the trip for less money.

How Does it Work?

  1. Pre-Flight Preparation: After a deposit if given for a puppy, we collaborate with the flight nanny to coordinate a day/time of flight that works for everyone. The new puppy owner pays a small deposit to the Flight Nanny (usually around $150) to confirm the availability of a nanny. And we begin a group texting thread between us, the new owner and the puppy nanny. ** The service we use flies STAND BY so everyone is expected to be flexible as flights could fill up and be bumped. But we believe the cost savings and safe arrival of your puppy is worth any small inconvenience.
  2. Travel Day: We meet the Flight Nanny curbside at the Boise, Idaho (BOI) Airport. Unlike cargo travel, flight nannies accompany pets in the cabin in a small soft carrier, allowing them to monitor and attend to their needs throughout the flight. This in-cabin experience is significantly less stressful for pets, offering a more comfortable and secure environment.
  3. Personalized Attention: During the journey, flight nannies ensure that your dogs receive regular bathroom breaks, food (if needed), and playtime. This level of personalized attention helps minimize the impact of travel-related stress.

Choosing a flight nanny is not just about getting your pups from point A to point B. It’s about ensuring a smooth, stress-free transition for your puppy, providing them with the care and attention they deserve. So, rest assured that a flight nanny is there to make their journey as pawsitively delightful as possible!
