The best way to train a puppy/dog, is to follow 3 simle steps.
- Interrupt the behavior BEFORE it starts. You can us distraction & prevention.
- Follow through with a puppy. The first few weeks at home with a puppy can be exhausting, but it will be worth it if you follow through.
- Consistency. You must be consistent between family members and with your puppy.
If your puppy needs immediate correction, you can clap your hands and yell “no”. If that doesn’t get the puppy’s attention, you can walk towards the puppy into its space.
Dogs can only focus on one thing, so the next time you are training, be sure to have a treat and call the puppy’s name.
